The present plan is to permanently settle 10,000 Syrian refugees in the United States. (Source: CNBC News, November 16, 2015)

Syrian Refugees have ALREADY been permanently settled in thirty-six (36) States. Those States are: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho. Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin. (Source:Breitbart, December 1, 2015; http: //www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/12/01/syrian- refugees-resettled-36-states-catx-mi/

Congressman Peter King has stated what many other officials have said regarding the vetting of Syrian refugees. Congressman Peter King states:"There’s virtually no vetting. There are no databases in Syria. There are no government records." “We don’t know who these people are." (Source: Daily Caller, November 15, 2915)

Thirty (30) Governors have requested that Syrian refugees NOT enter their States. These Governors are from: "Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin and Wyoming." (Source: NPR, November 17, 2015)

Legal experts have stated that the immigration of refugees to the United States stands with the Federal Government not the States. Therefore Governors do not have the authority to deny entry of Syrian refugees into their States. Further once the Syrian refugees have been admitted into the United States they can travel to any State. (Sources: (1) USA Today, November 16, 2015; (2) Mother Jones, November 2015)

We believe that UNLESS Congress or President Obama STOP the Syrian refugees from entering the United States the people should have a direct vote on this issue.

Therefore each State should hold a Referendum to decide if Syrian refugees should be permanently settled in their State.

In Sweden the Democrats Political Party "said they would push for a national referendum on immigration" and Syrian Refugees. In Norway the Progress Political Party "demands a national referendum on Syrian refugees quota." In Hungary the Jobbik Political Party "called for a national referendum" on Syrian Refugees. (Sources: (1) Reuters, October 15, 2015; (2) The Nordic Page, June 12, 2015; (3) Associated Press, Nov. 18, 2015)

Therefore the United States should hold a National Advisory Referendum to decide if Syrian refugees should be permanently settled in this Country.

Listed below are the Political Candidates that agree to the following statement:
